Bertha Nell Tackett Mccarty Bounds

Bertha Nell Bounds age 94 passed away on Friday January 19, 2024 at Brooklyn Personal Care Home in Mathiston, MS. Bertha Nell was born on February 27, 1929 to Louis Watson and Minnie LaDelle Fox Tackett in Weir, MS. She was a retired employee of the Choctaw County Superintendent of Education's Office and a life-long member of Providence Baptist Church in Choctaw County, MS. She loved the Lord and believed His promises fully. Bertha Nell was a musician and began playing the upright bass and later enjoyed playing her Martin acoustic guitar at many folk and bluegrass festivals. She also enjoyed going and playing at many of the area Nursing Homes. Mrs. Bertha Nell is survived by her special niece; Sherry Gregg Kelly of Itta Bena, MS, one daughter in law; Tiffani McCarty of Laurel, MS and host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her two husbands; Zolie Hugh McCarty and Dr. George Bounds and one son; Hugh Fox McCarty. Funeral Services will be held 12Noon Tuesday January 23, 2024 at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Eupora, MS with burial in Providence Cemetery in Choctaw County, MS. The Graveside/Committal Services will be held at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel instead of Providence Cemetery. Bro. Donnie Buckner will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday January 23, 2024 from 10:00AM until 12Noon at Oliver Funeral Home.
