Bobby Alford Eaves

Bobby Alford Eaves age 86 of Mathiston, Mississippi passed away on Wednesday morning, July 29, 2026, at Skelton Personal Care Home in Mathiston. Bobby was born in Louisville, Mississippi to the late Prentiss Eaves and Lorene Crocker Eaves on March 5, 1940. He was a Greyhound and Trailways Bus Driver for many years and then later retired as a Technician for Dowdle Gas Company. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Columbus, Mississippi. Bobby enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time with his family, attending Church and his Sunday School Class. He also traveled extensively while driving the bus but enjoyed visiting Mountain View, Arkansas with his late wife, Ginger. Bobby proudly served his Country in the United States Army National Guard. A very talented and gifted musician, Bobby enjoyed playing acoustic and electric guitar along with the upright bass for several gospel and bluegrass groups throughout his lifetime. He also enjoyed attending the Y with his late wife, Ginger of whom he adored. Bobby is survived by his daughters, Christy (Tommy) Massey of Columbus, Mississippi and Debbie (Randy) McCool of Eupora, Mississippi; sons, Ricky (Kathy) Eaves of New Albany, Mississippi, Teddy (Pam) Eaves of Steens, Mississippi and Scott (Mitzi) Swindle of Mathiston, Mississippi; one sister, Doris Hill of Gulfport, Mississippi; fifteen grandchildren, Julie (Hutson), Brad (Haley), Cody (Heather), Alex (Sandy), Craig, Nikki (Casey), Kyle, Lauren (Bradley), Ashley (Will), Matt (Sarah), Parker (Cameron), Currie (Tate), Jason (Kristen), Tyler and Kendall; twenty-four great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his late wife of thirty-six years, Ginger Swindle Eaves; both parents, Prentiss and Lorene Crocker Eaves; one son, Roger Swindle; one great grandson, Walker and one sister, Margaret Stokes. Funeral Services for Mr. Bobby will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Eupora, Mississippi. The family will receive friends and loved ones for a time of Visitation also on Sunday, August 2, 2026, from 1:00PM until time for services at 3:00PM at Oliver Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Double Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Maben, Mississippi. The Graveside/Committal Services will all be held at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel instead of Double Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Brad McCool and Dr. Bill Hurt will officiate the services.
