Brenda Jean Ray Murphree age 67, of Maben, Mississippi passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. Brenda was born in Louisville, Mississippi on March 31, 1958, to the late Dewitt and Helene Proctor Ray. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Madison, Mississippi and retired as head teller for Regions Bank in Eupora, Mississippi. Brenda loved her family and enjoyed planning trips and traveling. Mrs. Murphree is survived by her loving husband, Eddie Murphree of Maben, Mississippi; three daughters, Tabatha (Kevin) Murphree Russell of Pearl, Mississippi, Alison (Jonathan) Murphree Lanthrip of Mathiston, Mississippi and Sarah (Alex) Murphree Dempsey of Starkville, Mississippi; eight grandchildren, Hunter, Eddie Jace, Elli, Mila, Hunter, Carson, Charlotte, Caitlin and two other special little boys; her beloved Boston Terrier, Oma Dawg Murphree and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by both of her parents, Dewitt and Helene Proctor Ray and two brothers, Roger and Henry Ray. Funeral Services for Mrs. Brenda will be held at 12Noon on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Eupora, Mississippi. The family will receive friends and loved ones for a time of visitation on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 11:00AM until time for services at 12Noon at Oliver Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Marvin Hill Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery in Cumberland, Mississippi. The Graveside/Committal Services will be held at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel instead of Marvin Hill Congregational Methodist Cemetery. Bro. Vic Nickels will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Brenda's grandsons. Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora is honored to be entrusted with all arrangements for the Murphree family.
