David Ivery Rushing age 94, passed away at Floyd E. Tut Fann Home in Huntsville, AL on Saturday, November 16, 2024. David was born in Choctaw County, MS to James Ollie Rushing and Lou Ella Parish Rushing on January 10, 1930. He was a member of William Springs Church of God in Stewart, MS and a retired Supervisor in the Manufacturing Industry. David served in the United States Army and also enjoyed selling used cars from his front lawn in Stewart, MS. Mr. Rushing is survived by one son, Eric (Paige) Rushing, McCalla, AL; two granddaughters, Courtney (Hunter) Sexton, Helena, AL and Kirsten (Cole) Wilson, Calera, AL; one brother, Nathan (Sue) Rushing, Harrison, AR and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Ollie and Lou Ella Parish Rushing; both of his wives, Martha Rushing and Doris Rushing; two sisters, Opal Jaudon and Lois Roberts; and four brothers, James Dorsey, Jamie Lloyd, John Avery and Roy Verell. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at William Springs (Freewill) Cemetery in Choctaw County. There will be a time of visitation for friends from 10:30AM until time for services at 11:00AM at William Springs (Freewill) Cemetery in Choctaw County. Rev. John Lumbley will officiate. Interment will follow the services there at William Springs (Freewill) Cemetery. Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora is in charge of all arrangements.
