Edna Ruth Dean Adkins

Edna Ruth Dean Adkins age 90 of Stewart, Mississippi passed away on Monday, July 20, 2026, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora, Mississippi. Edna was born on May 17, 1936, to the late Josh Dean and Ruthie Mae Bright Dean in Choctaw County, Mississippi. She was a homemaker and member of Stewart Baptist Church in Stewart, Mississippi. She also enjoyed bird watching, her flowers, cooking, spending time with her family and grandchildren and great grandchildren. Edna is survived by her daughters, Bonnie (Danny) Patterson of Winona, Mississippi; Kathy (Alvis) McKay of Winona, Mississippi, Lisa (Ricky) Moore of Stewart, Mississippi and Tammie (Jeffrey) Cooper of Stewart, Mississippi; one son, Tommy Adkins also of Stewart, Mississippi her thirteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by both of her parents, Josh and Ruthie Mae Bright Dean; her husband, J.B. Adkins; two daughters, Glenda Adkins and Connie Austin and her four sisters. Funeral Services for Mrs. Edna will be at 2:00PM on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Eupora, Mississippi. The family will receive friends and loved ones for a time of Visitation on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 12Noon until time for services at 2:00PM at Oliver Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Eupora, Mississippi where she will be laid to rest by her late husband, J.B. Adkins. The Graveside/Committal Services will all be held at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel instead of Mt. Zion Cemetery. Rev. Randy Bridges will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Paul Whitten, Bradley Cooper, Ryan Moore, Case McKay, Chase McKay and Clay McKay. Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora is honored to be entrusted with all arrangements for the Adkins family.
