Elton Ray Johnson

Elton Ray Johnson age 87 of Eupora, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, August 4, 2025. Ray was born on February 14, 1938, in Montgomery County, Mississippi to Carl Johnson and Johnnie Kennedy Johnson. He was a retired farmer and factory worker and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors. Ray is survived by his loving wife, Annie Louise Jenkins Johnson of Eupora, Mississippi; one daughter, Melody (Greg) Petty of Eupora, Mississippi; three grandchildren, Cutter (Chelsea) Petty, Hunter Petty and Sadie Grace Petty, two great grandchildren, Asher Petty and Rhett Petty and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by both of his parents, Carl Johnson and Johnnie Kennedy Johnson, his four sisters, three brothers, two infant twin siblings and one great grandchild, Emersyn Marie Grace Petty. Funeral Services for Mr. Ray will be held at 3:00PM on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Eupora, Mississippi. Interment will follow at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Choctaw County, Mississippi. The family will receive friends and loved ones for a time of visitation on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 1:00PM until time for services at 3:00PM at Oliver Funeral Home in Eupora, Mississippi.
