Irene Lewis Pollard

Irene Lewis Pollard age 99, passed away peacefully at North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora, Mississippi on Sunday, December 21, 2025. Irene was born in Choctaw County, Mississippi on August 6, 1926, to the late Wiley Troy Lewis and Ada Lee Humphries Lewis. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and homemaker. Mrs. Irene was the oldest member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Choctaw County and long-time Sunday School Secretary. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting and sitting on her front porch. Mrs. Irene is survived by two daughters, Betty Tumberlinson of Mathiston, Mississippi and Charlotte (Derrell) Fulgham of Symsonia, Kentucky; three sons, Russell (Linda K.) Pollard, Gerald (Linda H.) Pollard and Neal (Hope) Pollard all of Mathiston, Mississippi; seven grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of almost sixty years, James Russell Pollard; one sister, Erliene Breland; two brothers, Mervin Lewis and M.C. Lewis and one grandson, Kip Odell Pollard. Funeral Services for Mrs. Irene will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, December 26, 2025, at Fellowship Baptist Church in Mathiston, Mississippi. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Friday, December 26, 2025, from 12Noon until time for services at 2:00PM at Fellowship Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery there in Mathiston, Mississippi. Rev. Brent Manasco and Rev. Shannon Edwards will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Irene's grandsons. The family requests that all donations in Mrs. Irene's memory be made to The Gideons International P.O. Box 140800, Nashville, Tennessee 37214-0800.
