Jeanie Sims McCain age 86, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday morning, June 9. 2024, at Diversicare in Eupora, MS. Jeanie was born on August 26, 1937, in Itta Bena, MS to Frank and Arlin Sims. She was a graduate of Eupora High School and later married the love of her life, James Marion McCain on April 19, 1956 where they made their home together and raised their three boys in Tomnolen, MS. She was a loved homemaker, a wonderful florist who was very instrumental in the beginnings of Sara's Flower Shop in the 1970s in Eupora and also worked at Murphy Drugs and Gifts from 1988 until her retirement in 2010. Jeanie was a member of First Baptist Church in Eupora, MS and was a member of the Ruth Sunday School Class there. She loved the Lord, her family and friends and was an extraordinary cook always baking and having her famous Sunday lunches for her family and friends. She was known as Memama to all her beloved grands and great grands. Jeanie is survived by her three sons; Franky (Jackie) McCain, Oakland, MS, Gregg (Lisa) McCain, Tomnolen, MS and Rodney (Gay) McCain, Starkville, MS, one sister; Brenda (Van) Chism, Springfield, MO, six grandchildren; Jason (Shelbi), Oxford, MS, Jill (Rieker) McCain Hames, Roseville, CA, Emily (Andrew) McCain Lindsay, Alexandria, LA, Brent (Allison) McCain, Oxford, MS, Tyler McCain, Tomnolen, MS and Mallory (Kacey) McCain Skelton, Tomnolen, MS, nine great grandchildren; Millie Lindsay, Lanee Lindsay, Hatton Lindsay, Presley McCain, Slayden McCain, Ginny Rose Skelton, Erin McCain, Mary Atley Skelton, and Simsy McCain, best friend; Jimmie Ray Morgan, Tomnolen, MS and a host of other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; Frank and Arlin Sims, her loving husband; James Marion McCain, two sisters; Kay McDaniel and Jimmie Kelly and five brothers; Thomas, Dale, John, James and Charles Sims. Funeral Services will be at 2:00PM Friday, June 14, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Eupora, MS. Visitation will be Thursday, June 13, 2014 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Oliver Funeral Home in Eupora, MS. Mrs. McCain will lie in state at First Baptist Church in Eupora from 1:00PM until time for service at 2:00PM on Friday. Interment will be at Greensboro Cemetery in Webster County, MS. Rev. Travis Gray will officiate. Pallbearers will be Bill Dean, Al McCain, Sam McCain, Richard Pittman, Randy Rico and Tim Rowe. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rieker Hames, Andrew Lindsay, Brent McCain, Jason McCain, Tyler McCain and Kacey Skelton. Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora is honored to serve the McCain Family.
