Johnnie Douglas "J.D." Robertson, age 83 of Eupora, Mississippi, passed away surrounded by his family on Monday evening, May 19, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora, Mississippi. J.D. was born in Gordo, Alabama on May 4, 1942, to James Barrett Robertson and Hassie Ethel Harris Robertson. After receiving his Bachelor's Degree in College, J.D began work as the County Social Worker for Webster County, Mississippi later holding office of Chancery Clerk for the County for sixteen years. After leaving work for the County, J.D. worked at Master's Design in Eupora, Mississippi. He had many hobbies including golfing, farming, his cows, being a referee for basketball games for over 30 years, rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals and Ole Miss but loved spending time with all of his family and grandchildren. Mr. Robertson was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Eupora, Mississippi and also served in the United States Army National Guard. J.D. is survived by his loving wife; Marcelle McCluskey Robertson, Eupora, Mississippi, two daughters; LeAnn (David) Cooper, Hallsville, Texas and Daphne (Danny) Rochelle, Brandon, Mississippi, one sister; Earlene Sewell, Pontotoc, Mississippi, six grandchildren; Mary Hayden Logan, Madeline Logan, Toler Logan, Mabrey Logan, Annalise Rochelle and Caitlyn Rochelle and host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; James Barrett Robertson and Hassie Ethel Harris Robertson, one son; Terry Wayne Carroll, two sisters; Doris Tharp and Frances Cooper, four brothers; Jerry Robertson, Robert Robertson, James Robertson and Richard Robertson. Funeral Services to celebrate the life of Mr. J.D. will be held at 3:00PM on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Eupora, Mississippi. Interment will follow at Clarkson Cemetery in Webster County, Mississippi. The family will receive friends and loved ones for a time of visitation from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Wednesday evening, May 21, 2025, at Oliver Funeral Home in Eupora, Mississippi. Mr. Robertson will also lie in state on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Eupora, Mississippi from 2:00PM until time for services at 3:00PM. Rev. Travis Gray will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Nathan Huffman, Brandon Huffman, Dean Huffman, Barrett Bowerman, Harold Cooksey, Gene Cooksey and Jackie Cooksey. Honorary Pallbearers will be Adult III Men's Sunday School Class and the Deacons of First Baptist Church of Eupora. The family requests that all memorials be made in Mr. J.D.'s memory to Batson Children's Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi or to First Baptist Church of Eupora.
