Kenneth “Kenny” Earl Dean, 78, was born on December 26, 1945 in Choctaw County, Mississippi to the late Mary Elizabeth Bailey Dean and Earlie Etoy Dean. He went home to be with the Lord on June 22, 2024. Kenny took great pride in his family, and it was evident! He was more than happy to tell all who would listen how much he loved them and how proud he was of Laine and the kids. Kenny was a long-time employee of South Central Bell, where he began his career as a lineman and retired as Installation Maintenance Supervisor after 28 years with the company. He loved and supported his South Central Bell family. After retirement from his communications career, he turned his full attention to 5-D Limited, the auto business he co-founded with his wife, Laine, and operated until the time of his death. He made lifelong friends and impacted many lives over 5-D Limited’s 40 years in operation. Kenny and Laine exhibited extreme devotion to and love for the people of Adaton. They worked tirelessly to ensure that the community of Adaton thrived and were instrumental in its development, evidenced in part by their dedication to the Adaton Water Association and its work, with Kenny serving many years as Board Treasurer. They truly could not have been prouder of their Adaton family and were deeply grateful for their love and support. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Evelaine Hodges Dean, and his parents; Earlie Etoy and Mary Elizabeth Bailey Dean and Mattie P. Jones Dean. Kenny is survived by his siblings Dale (Becky) Dean, Tomnolen, MS and Debbie (Ed) Baker, Eupora, MS; his daughters, Melinda (Barry) Martin, Eva, AL, Elaina (Wesley) Burgess, Humboldt, TN and Amberly (Bob) Glover, Ripley, MS; grandchildren; Mallory (Nathan) Key, Bailey (Kegean) Fast, Breanna (Chris) Reed, Elleana Burgess, Cross Burgess, Snow Glover, Graham Glover, and Pierce Glover, one great grandchild; Journee Reed and a cherished aunt Ethel Fulford. He grew up attending Wood Springs Baptist Church in Choctaw County, MS, where he later served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. Kenny’s love for the Lord was strong, and he demonstrated that love by helping and encouraging others. His desire was that all would come to know and love the Lord. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Wood Springs Baptist Church, Adaton Baptist Church, or Love Worth Finding Ministries. Visitation will begin at 11:00AM on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Adaton Baptist Church, Starkville, Mississippi with a Celebration of Life Service at 1:00PM. Following that, there will be a Graveside Service at Wood Springs Cemetery in Eupora, Mississippi. Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora is honored to be entrusted with all arrangements for the Dean family.
