Linda Carol Newton Hitt

Linda Carol Hitt age 62 of Eupora, Mississippi, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2026, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi. Linda was born on February 27, 1964, in Jackson, Mississippi to the late James Riley Newton and Mary Velma Johnson Newton. She worked many years for Sonic in Eupora and also at Heatcraft and ADP in Grenada, Mississippi. She also attended Fellowship Baptist Church in Bellefontaine, Mississippi. Linda is survived by her husband, Thomas "Tommy" Hitt of Eupora, Mississippi; three sons, James Bradley Davis of Eupora, Mississippi, Thomas Allen Hitt of Eupora, Mississippi and Charles Thomas Hitt of Yazoo, Mississippi; two brothers, Ricky (Susan) Newton and Donald "Duck" Newton both of Eupora, Mississippi; three grandchildren with one on the way, Conner Davis, Laken Hitt and Brittleigh Hitt and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, James Riley and Mary Velma Johnson Newton; one sister, Joyce Newton Johnson and three brothers, Barry, Kenny and Tim Newton. Funeral Services for Linda will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Eupora, Mississippi. The family will receive friends and loved ones for a time of visitation on Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 1:00PM until time for services at 2:00PM. Interment will follow the services at Greensboro Cemetery in Eupora, Mississippi. The Graveside/Committal Services will be held at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel instead of Greensboro Cemetery.
