Sherryl Norwood Crowell

Iris Sherryl Crowell, age 76, of Walthall, Mississippi passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at Brooklyn Hall Personal Care Home in Mathiston, Mississippi. She was born on August 6, 1950, to the late Grover Cleveland (G.C) Norwood and Glenda Pearl Betterton Norwood in Eupora, Mississippi. Sherryl grew up with her parents and siblings, Bonita and Anthony in the Peppertown Community. She graduated from Eupora High School and attended Mississippi State University. Sherryl worked for the Mississippi Forestry Commission in Webster County for twenty-seven years until retiring in 1997. She was a member of Walthall Baptist Church in Walthall and enjoyed cooking for her family and helpin with meals at church, canning vegetables, gardening, sewing, reading, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and also loved her church family. 

Sherryl is survived by her four children, Glendolyn Crowell of Collinsville, Mississippi, Rodney (Holley) Crowell, Letitia (Tim) Abbott and Krystal (Cliff) Ballard all of Walthall, Mississippi; six grandchildren, Madison (Garrett) Moore of Hernando, Mississippi, Rylee Brooke Crowell (Jackson) of Walthall, Mississippi, Marleigh (Jacob) Meadows of Hernando, Mississippi, Cancy Abbott, Millie Ballard and Macon Ballard of Walthall, Mississippi; great grandchildren, Landry, Carter and Madden of Hernando, Mississippi; two siblings, Bonita (Jimmy) Philley of Grenada, Mississippi and Anthony (Milinda) Norwood of Bellefontaine, Mississippi and host of nieces and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her husband of thirty-eight years, Terry Crowell and her parents, Grover Cleveland (G.C) Norwood and Glenda Pearl Betterton Norwood. 

Funeral Services for Mrs. Sherryl will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, November 8, 2026, at Walthall Baptist Church in Walthall, Mississippi. The family will receive friends and loved ones for a time of Visitation on Saturday evening, November 7, 2026, from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Oliver Funeral Home in Eupora, Mississippi. Mrs. Sherryl will also lie in state at Walthall Baptist Church from 2:00PM until time for Services at 3:00PM on Sunday, November 8, 2026. Interment will follow at Webster Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Eupora, Mississippi. All Graveside/Committal Services will be held at Walthall Baptist Church instead of Webster Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Bro. Jason Hubbard and Rev. Hugh Bland will officiate the services. Those serving as pallbearers will be Macon Ballard, Garrett Moore, Jacob Meadows, Jackson Lee, Scott Norwood and Josh Norwood.
