Troy Lee Medders

Troy Lee Medders age 84 of Eupora, Mississippi passed away on Friday morning, July 17, 2026, at North Mississippi Medical Center Inpatient Hospice in Tupelo, Mississippi after an extended illness. Troy was born on August 19, 1941, to the late Robert Medders and Hattie McKnight Medders in Choctaw County, Mississippi. He was a retired Dry Wall Finisher and Carpenter. Troy served his Country in the United States Army in the Vietnam Conflict in 1967 until 1968. He enjoyed doing yardwork and being outdoors hunting and fishing. He married the mother of his five children, Debra Burton Medders on May 21, 1980, and was married for forty years. 

Troy is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Daniele (William) Medders Murphy of Eupora, Mississippi; three sons, Troy Lee (Neysa) Medders II of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Robert (Sheila) Medders and William Medders both of Eupora, Mississippi; the mother of his children, Debra Burton Medders of Eupora, Mississippi; Ashley Murphy, Karsyn Medders, Maggie Medders, Troy Lee Medders III, Tripp Medders, Braiden Denning, Ciara Denning, Waylon Medders and Drizzt Davis; sister, Edna Medders of Kilmichael, Mississippi; half-brother, Robert Medders of Rosedale, Mississippi and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by both of his parents, Robert and Hattie McKnight Medders; one daughter, Angela Nicole Medders, three sisters, Nell Medders Severenski, Inez Medders Tedder Thompson and Rachael Medders Taylor and seven brothers, Ed Medders, V.J. Medders, Robert Medders, Jr., Alton Medders, Thomas Medders, Roy Lee Medders and J.T. Medders. 

Funeral Services for Troy will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Eupora, Mississippi. The family will receive friends and loved ones for a time of Visitation on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, from 10:00AM until time for services at 11:00AM at Oliver Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery in Choctaw County, Mississippi. All Graveside/Committal Services with Military Honors will be held at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel instead of Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Pallbearers will be William Murphy, Edwin Taylor, James Edwards, Jay Medders, Donald "Duck" Taylor, Robert Medders and Billy Lee. Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora is honored to be entrusted with all arrangements for the Medders family.
